Parishioners from St. Paul's historic churches tour the Hiawatha LRT

Environmental services project manager Kathryn O'Brien (left foreground) of the Central Corridor LRT Project helped lead a group of parishioners from the Church of St. Louis King of France and Central Presbyterian Church in St. Paul on a tour Sunday, Aug. 3, of the Hiawatha LRT in downtown Minneapolis. They disembarked at the Government Plaza station to experience what it is like for people on a sidewalk in front of a historic building when a train arrives and departs.

Central Corridor LRT Project Director Mark Fuhrmann listens to two downtown St. Paul churchgoers during a tour Sunday, Aug. 3, of the Hiawatha LRT in downtown Minneapolis. Outreach staff for the project gave the tour to allow parishioners from Central Presbyterian Church and the Church of St. Louis King of France to experience a ride on the LRT and the experience on a sidewalk in front of a historic building when a train passes by.

Dana Dellis on LRT tour with parishioners from St. Paul's historic churches

Community outreach coordinator Dana Dellis led a group of St. Paul parishioners from Central Presbyterian Church and the Church of St. Louis King of France on a tour of the Hiawatha LRT and its stations in downtown Minneapolis on Sunday, Aug. 3. She compares the distance between the tracks and the jail in downtown Minneapolis near the Government Plaza station to the distance that will be between the St. Paul churches' steps on Cedar Street to the tracks once the Central Corridor LRT line is built.
