The Central Corridor light rail project's public involvement initiatives are designed to educate the public on all aspects of the project, and provide opportunities for interested parties to actively contribute to the decision making process.
The purpose of the Station Art Committees (SAC) is to engage the local community on the public art component of the Central Corridor Light Rail Transit stations. Each SAC is charged with advising the station artist on the culture and history of the community, and assisting the Metropolitan Council and its Central Corridor Project Office (CCPO) in planning and promoting public art meetings with the community.
The CAC will be the primary avenue for corridor residents, business owners and groups to provide ideas and input on the project. The CAC chair is Kirstin Sersland Beach. See the CAC charter.
The Business Advisory Council (BAC) will provide business input on project design and construction mitigation issues. See the BAC charter.
Community Outreach team members are assigned to a specific area of the Central Corridor LRT route and are the point person for area stakeholders on critical issues such as station design and access, traffic, safety, parking, and mitigation of construction impacts. To find the Outreach Coordinator working directly with your area, please visit the Outreach Coordinator's page.
