Slim Flaten is one of several small-plane enthusiasts who fly out of Benson Airport in the township. Once a private airport, it is now owned by the township. Flaten's dog, Tammy, keeps him company while he works on his plane and other projects at the airport.
The township is constructing a joint-use municipal building, Heritage Hall, with neighboring Gem Lake. The building will open for business in November.
The Cottages of White Bear Township, a senior rental housing development, features good views of surrounding marshes.
Bonnie Bjork, Lino Lakes, enjoys jogging south from her home into White Bear Township. The township has about 3 miles of paved trails that link to trails in surrounding communities. In the background is one of the township's 3 water towers and part of the township's public works property. .
