All the applications that passed the qualifying criteria have been scored by the respective project scoring groups. On April19, the TAC Funding and Programming Committee resolved the scoring re-evaluation requests in the 2011 regional solicitation and endorsed a final ranked list of projects. The Transportation Advisory Board accepted the final scores and ranked lists at their meeting on May 16. See the final scores
In addition MnDOT has released the ranked scores for projects submitted for Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) funding.
The federal transportation funds in this regional solicitation would be programmed for implementation in 2015 or 2016. A federal transportation funding Act that would provide funding in these years is currently being debated in Congress. It is unclear whether Congress will pass a bill before the elections this fall, or wait until a new Congress and perhaps new President take office in 2013. Postponing the awarding of funds makes it more difficult for project sponsors to deliver projects on time. The TAB has decided to go ahead and allocate funding in the 2011 regional solicitation and will react to funding levels and other changes in the new Act after it is passed. The TAB Programming Committee and full TAB will take up this discussion at their meetings on June 20. See TAB agendas and meeting materials.
