Proposed amendments to the 2030 Transportation Policy Plan
The Metropolitan Council will hold a public hearing on April 12, 2010, to accept comments on the proposed amendments to the 2030 Transportation Policy Plan for the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area. The proposed amendments include:
- Reflection of Light Rail Transit (LRT) on the Kenilworth-Opus-Golden Triangle alignment (Alternative 3A) as the locally preferred alternative for the Southwest Transitway; and
- Modifications to I-94 from St. Paul/5th Street to the Lowry Tunnel, which will add capacity for more than a mile from the conversion of the shoulder lane to permanent general traffic use, following temporary changes made in response to the I-35W bridge collapse.
The public comment period for these amendments will open March 8, 2010, and close April 22, 2010, with a public hearing to be held on April 12, 2010, at 5:00 PM at 390 Robert Street North, St. Paul.
