ST. PAUL‑‑Sept. 26, 2007‑‑Metro Mobility, a transportation service for people with disabilities, will hold two public forums in October to hear from riders and others on how well the program meets customer's transportation needs. Metro Mobility is a "door‑through‑door" transportation service and provides more than one million rides a year in the Twin Cities metro area.
Anyone who is interested is encouraged to attend the forums and offer comments. People may register in advance to speak by calling Metro Mobility Customer Services at 651.601.1111 or 651.221.9886 (TTY). People may also sign up to speak at the time of the forums. Sign language interpreter services will be provided at the forums. Upon request, reasonable accommodations to persons with disabilities will be provided.
The forums are an opportunity to comment on how Metro Mobility is working and offer ideas for improvement. Metro Mobility staff members will be on hand to answer general questions and respond to comments. Riders seeking follow‑up on a specific incident or concern are asked to contact the Metro Mobility Customers Services Department, 651.602.1111 or 651.221‑9886 (TTY).

Metro Mobility is operated by the Metropolitan Council. Two private companies provide service under contract in a private‑public partnership that helps keep system costs down. See more information on the Metro Mobility services at www.metromobility.org.
The Metropolitan Council is the regional planning organization for the seven‑county metropolitan area. The Council runs the regional bus system and Hiawatha Light Rail Line, collects and treats wastewater and manages water resources preservation, plans regional parks and administers funds that provide housing opportunities for low‑ and moderate‑income individuals and families. The 17‑member Council is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the Minnesota governor.
