MCES is a division of the Metropolitan Council, but does not receive state funding for operations. MCES’ operating budget is paid by user fees from communities (residents, commercial businesses, and industries) connected to MCES’ interceptors and from haulers transporting and disposing of wastewater at MCES disposal sites. As a result, MCES disposal sites will not be affected by any state government shutdown and will remain open for use. |

The Metro Liquid Waste Receiving site will open Saturday, April 23. However, due to heavy construction equipment activity on Childs Road, 3rd & Commercial diposal site will remain open through Tuesday, April 26 to divert some traffic. |

A second river crest on the Mississippi River in St Paul is expected early next week and Childs Road leading to the Metro Plant remains closed. Liquid Waste Haulers need to continue to use the 3rd & Commercial disposal site (map) instead of Metro LWR until further notice. |

Metro LWR is closing at 10:00 on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 due to flood conditions. All Liquid Waste Haulers bringing loads to Metro LWR need to go to the 3rd & Commercial site (map) until further notice. The 3rd & Commercial site will be accessible 24 hours a day. |

Metro LWR remains open at this time. Because of a change in weather, Childs Road leading to Metro LWR did not close on Saturday, March 26. The 3rd & Commercial disposal site is also open. Haulers that have active access cards for both Metro LWR and 3rd & Commercial may use either site until further notice. |

Due to flood conditions, the Metro Plant Liquid Waste Receiving facility will be closed starting Saturday, March 26. Haulers will be routed to the 3rd & Commercial Disposal site (map). The 3rd & Commercial site will be accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week starting March 26 and until further notice. |

MCES is preparing for the probability of major flooding of the Mississippi River in the St. Paul area this spring. In the event of a major flood the road to the Metro Plant and the Metro LWR facility will close temporarily. All Liquid Waste Haulers permitted to use the Metro LWR facility need to contact MCES with Access Card information so that you can be rerouted to the 3rd & Commercial disposal site if necessary. Look to this page for updates regarding flood information and announcements. |
| 3/1/11 | Standard & Special Discharge Permittees | Standard Permittees and Special Permittees with a "quarterly" reporting frequency must submit a complete discharge report so it is received at MCES offices on or before April 30th, 2011. Late reports are subject to a Notice of Violation (NOV) and Late Fee. |
