Each day, Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) serves 104 communities, treating 300 million gallons of wastewater, removing 500 tons of pollutant for 2.2 million residents and over 800 permitted industries. 300 million gallons of wastewater would fill the Metrodome in less than 2 days. In addition, MCES is responsible for monitoring the water quality of metro area rivers and lakes.
