Environmental Education Events and Outreach

Metropolitan Council staff participate in environmental education events and programs for school children and the general public. The Council is committed to improving water quality in the region through a variety of efforts including educational efforts focused on non-point source pollution. Among the events that staff participate in are the following:

Metro Children's Water Festival

Over 1,300 fifth graders from around the Metro area attend this one-day event in September each year. The Council, along with representatives of each of the seven counties in the Metro area, State agencies, and other private and public organizations, plan and participate in this event. The focus is on all topics related to water. For more information check out the CWF website.

Earthfest at the Zoo

Each Spring around Earthday the Minnesota Zoo sponsors an environmental fair. The Council participates by presenting information on non-point source pollution to school groups and other attendees. More information.

Other Events
