Project #8058, Chaska-Shakopee Interceptor Improvements  

Description:

This project provides for the rehabilitation of the corrosion damaged gravity sewer portion of the this interceptor. The gravity sewer is composed of lined and unlined concrete pipe as well as PVC pipe in shallow reaches. The focus of this project is the unlined (bare) reinforced concrete pipe, T-lock lined pipe with joint closure defects, and the maintenance structures (MH) of the Chaska Interceptor The rehabilitation work will include 56 MH’s along the interceptor alignment and lining 18,000 LF of RCP.

Purpose and Justification:

Recent inspection of the Chaska Interceptor has revealed corrosion damage in the gravity sewer portion of the facility (9206-1 and 9206-2). The corrosion is extensive and has resulted in significant damage to the interior concrete surfaces of the pipe and maintenance structures.
