2008 - 2017 Capital Improvement Program

Project #8058, Shakopee Interceptor Improvements

Description:

This project provides additional capacity to supplement the Chaska Interceptor by constructing a  parallel relief interceptor and/or reconstructing the existing interceptor. Capacity will be added to  serve areas west/southwest of Shakopee to optimize use of the Blue Lake WWTP. Eventually these  areas may be served by the proposed Scott County WWTP.

Purpose and Justification:

Rapid growth is occurring along the Highway 169 corridor through Shakopee. The Chaska Interceptor was not sized to accommodate this growth and will reach capacity between 2010 and 2020, based on projected growth rates for the area.
