Purpose and Justification:

The Plymouth lift station is served by two forcemains. The 30 inch forcemain was constructed in 1970 along with the pump station. In the late 1980's a 36 - 42 inch forcemain was installed to handle all the flow from the pump station. Portions of the Plymouth Forcemain act as a gravity sewer and never flow full. These portions of the forcemain experience are severely deteriorated by hydrogen sulfide. In order to meet the current and future needs of the service area, the forcemain requires rehabilitation or replacement.
