| Project
#8012, Systemwide Odor Control Improvements |
|
Description: This project provides for capital improvements to address odor problems in the MCES' conveyance and treatment system. Improvements include the collection and treatment of sewer gases with biofilter, chemical scrubbers, and/or carbon odor scrubbers; the installation of chemical feed facilities to control odors in critical areas of the system; and improvements to the airflow dynamics in large interceptors. The odor control improvement projects are proposed to provide for more effective operation and maintenance, and reduce odor from MCES facilities. |
The MCES is committed to being a good neighbor. Unresolved odor problems originating from our system tarnish our reputation. This project strengthens our ongoing commitment to work with our customers to investigate the source of odor complaints and develop a solution to correct the problem. This project provides funding and a systematic approach for capital improvements for odor control. It will provide for more effective operation and maintenance, and reduce odor from MCES facilities.
