Top-priority Transitway Projects
The 8 top-priority transitway projects included in the 2020 Transit Master Plan, adopted in 1999, are currently under way. Here’s their status:
- Northstar Commuter Rail– Full funding grant agreement pending
- Central Corridor LRT – Preliminary engineering in progress
- Cedar Avenue Bus Rapid Transit – Preliminary engineering in progress
- I-35W Bus Rapid Transit – HOV lane and 46th Street Station scheduled for 2008 construction
- Southwest – Alternatives analysis complete; LRT selected
- Bottineau (Minneapolis NW) – Alternatives analysis in progress
- Red Rock (Minneapolis SE to Hastings) – Alternatives analysis in progress
- Rush Line (St. Paul NE) – Alternatives analysis in progress
