Purpose and Justification:

The Plymouth lift station is served by two forcemains. The 30 inch steel forcemain was constructed in 1970 along with the pump station. In the late 1980's a 36 - 42 inch ductile iron forcemain was installed to handle all the flow from the pump station. Portions of the Plymouth Forcemain act as a gravity sewer and never flow full. These portions of the forcemain experience are severely deteriorated by hydrogen sulfide. To ensure reliable service, the forcemain requires rehabilitation.
