Project #8012, Systemwide Odor Control Improvements

Description:

This project provides for capital improvements to address odor problems in the MCES' conveyance and treatment system. Improvements include the collection and treatment of sewer gases with  biofilter, chemical scrubbers, and/or carbon odor scrubbers; the installation of chemical feed  facilities to control odors in critical areas of the system; and improvements to the airflow dynamics  in large interceptors. The odor control improvement projects are proposed to provide for more  effective operation and maintenance, and reduce odor from MCES facilities. The major planned project will address odors from the Joint Interceptor at Third and Commercial Streets in St. Paul.
