Local water utility leaders and other stakeholders will explore ways to solve water supply problems at Council-hosted workshops in late February and early March. Presented with real-life scenarios, small groups will explore issues, priorities and comparative costs and benefits for communities when they approach water supply concerns together rather than individually.
The workshops are part of the Metropolitan Area Water Supply Advisory Committee’s ongoing work with the Council to develop a master plan for sustainable water supplies as the metro area population expands to about 3.6 million people by 2030.
The workshop site is the Minnesota Department of Health Snelling Office Park, 1645 Energy Park Drive, Saint Paul, MN 55108. See directions to the workshop location.
To register, please contact the Council's data center by email to data.center@metc.state.mn.us, or by phone at 651-602-1140.
The advisory committee will also participate in the scenario exercise at its Feb. 28 meeting, holding an extended work session from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the French Regional Park in Plymouth.
