  • In 1999, Scott County ($66,612) and Washington County ($66,305) had the highest median household income. The lowest median household income was $45,722 in Ramsey County, followed by $51,711 in Hennepin County.
  • Between 1989 and 1999, median income expanded in all seven counties. Median income grew most rapidly in Carver and Scott Counties, rising by 28.9 percent in Carver County and by 25.8 percent in Scott County, after adjustment for inflation. Median household income grew by the slowest rate of 9.9 percent in Ramsey County, after adjustment for inflation.
  • Carver County had the highest share of household income over $200,000 in 1999. Ramsey County reported the highest percentage of household income under $25,000 in 1999.
